The wonderful world of art is for every and, oh, how we all benefit from it! Have you ever stopped to take a look around you to see how things are designed… For instance, I am a known colorist and I love the idea of color all around me—bold and vivid colors. My office has white walls and the color palette is rather drab… I have this poster on my wall that has five stripes of color—a deep navy blue (almost purple in color), and there is a stripe of seafoam green. There are three additional stripes of violet, orange, and red where each color represents a specific aspect of the poster’s message.
While the information is relevant, the colors are more meaningful to me because they enhance the environment. The carpet in the office is a yucky gray with tan pinstripes and splashes of bluish-green and red-orange pinstripes. (It looks dirty to me—all of the time). I suppose the designer was going for a modern office look and a color that may be easy to maintain. Remarkably, the combination with all of the white leaves a fresh and clean feel, but I still cannot the color.
I say all of that to say that if you just pay attention to your surroundings, you can see art everywhere—patterns, color, textures, lines, form….you name it. So the world is made up of colors!
Where do you see art today? Where do you see color? Fascinating huh…
